Transparent Iframe background SOLVED

I’m trying to get an IFrame element to open with a transparent background.

I’ve made a comp which has some text in it.
In the main loop I’ve unchecked clear & clear Alpha and saved it out.

(heres the link to this comp - https://cables.gl/p/5f14290982fa8f55f9b6acc1?s=e6NGuIhLKzN9KI9r)

In a separate comp I’m using the iFrame node to call this patch, but it always has a black background and I can’t seem to get rid of it. I’d ideally like the grid to show through.

heres the link to this one :slight_smile: https://cables.gl/p/5f142ea3bdef960444b7158d?s=lcqHVh80xsuO1dEQ

Any suggestions?

Preformatted texton cables.gl the patch background is not transparent,
when you export your patch you can set it to transparent

set this canvas alpha to true: "canvas":{"alpha":true}

            CABLES.patch = new CABLES.Patch({
                "patch": CABLES.exportedPatch,
                [.......]
                "canvas":{"alpha":true}
            });

then i guess the iframe needs to be styled with transparent background color etc.

but i never tried this. maybe iframes cant even do this.
maybe you should load the other cables patch via javascript

Thanks for this @pandur I’ll take a look at exporting a project and seeing if I can get this to work.

Incidentally, how might one load another patch with javascript?
I was looking through the forum and stumbled on this thread which is what I’m after, but I can’t quite figure it out.

this now contains an embedding example on how to set patches to transparent, it also contains a iframe with a patch in it, which is also both transparent
