[SOLVED] Patches not visible on mobile

Hello everyone, I spent the last couple of days playing with Cables, and I have to say that it’s pure gold.

So, keep it up!

Unfortunately, I have also to say that patches don’t work on mobile (example patch).
I see only a black screen and the console shows no errors.

I’ve tested on the following browsers/phones:

  • Safari on iPhone 5c with iOS 10.3.3
  • Google Chrome v71.0.3578.89 on iPhone 5c with iOS 10.3.3
  • Google Chrome v71.0.3578.89 on a Huawei Mate 10 Lite with Android 8.0.0

Not a single patch I’ve created works on mobile :frowning:

If you need more info, just let me know.

Thanks in advance :metal:

Hi Kekkorider,

Thanks for taking the time to test this and send us feedback.
A lot of what takes place within cables is based upon open GL.
Mobile devices normally only support certain older versions of Open GL. This is more a hardware issue than that there’s something wrong with cables.
In the near future we hope to be able to add an indicator to all ops which will then make clear if the op works on mobile or not.

Not the answer I hoped for, but I see your point

So, I have to consider not to show my patches on mobile if there’s no solution to this.

Thanks anyway andro :ok_hand:

hey…

we will try to make everything work on mobile…

so in this case its the phongmaterial, which has some issue right now.

if you try matcapmaterial, it works on mobile too.

i will have a look at the light materials for ios in the next days. we now have an iphone again

Hey @pandur, thanks a lot, I couldn’t have figured it out by myself, and I’m really happy not to have to drop my patches on mobile :partying_face::partying_face:
