Patch doesn't work in Chrome - SOLVED


I have a patch that works in Firefox and iirc used to work in Chrome some weeks ago. Now in Chrome it doesn’t show at all in view and the renderer stays empty in edit mode. If I embed it in my own page, I get the following errors (Chrome):

once during loading:

[.WebGL-0x7ff9838f8000]GL ERROR :GL_INVALID_OPERATION : glTexImage2D: <- error from previous GL command

repeatedly during operation:

[.WebGL-0x7ff9838f8000]GL ERROR :GL_INVALID_OPERATION : glReadPixels: <- error from previous GL command

In Firefox it doesn’t run without errors either, but it seems to work without stability issues.

Would it be clearer if I point you to the patch in question?

strange. it works fine for me in chrome. maybe some issue with your graphics card.

can you make a screenshot of this page ?
(browser/os/webgl part is important)


can you try to set all filterins of imagecompose and render2texture to nearest ?
(it will probably look shitty, but just for testing)

Here’s a screenshot of the page. You could well be right, I tested it at home on two other computers in chrome without problem, only on my work computer it’s still the case. The filters make no difference unfortunately. I’ll try reinstalling chrome.

hmmm it is using Google SwiftShader, which means it is using a “slow” CPU/software renderer.
this is probably because chrome has your graphics card blacklistet :confused:

i’ll try to reproduce this by forcing swiftshader. but not sure, when i’ll be able to do that

I overrode the software renderer with chrome://flags/#ignore-gpu-blacklist and now it seems to be working. I hope that doesn’t create too many crashes in the future…
