Try using the map range op on the output of your mouse position.
You could also get a sphere,use it with the https://cables.gl/op/Ops.Gl.Matrix.ScreenPosTo3d_v3 to move it around, get its depth texture (black and white gradient) and then and send that texture to the pixel displace op.
