Attempt to use point material along with MeshInstancer

Hi! :slight_smile: I’m trying to use PointMaterial op along with the MeshInstancer op with no success, I wonder if there is any limitation for PointMaterial to work with instances or am I misunderstanding its functionality. If someone would like to review my implementation, I’m leaving the link to my patch below.

I can’t get into your patch for some reason but this may point you in the right direction.
Just switch out the matcap material for a point material in the mesh instancer template project.

Thanks! :upside_down_face:, I’ve checked on the template project, and it works, also noticed the template uses MeshInstancer V.2, maybe the newer version has the issue, so for this time I’ll clone it. I’ve updated my project settings so it’s public now, in order for everyone to review this issue.

I don’t understand why you want to use the PointMaterial with the Meshinstancer.

As the description of PointMaterial says: “Draw all vertices as points / circles. Combine this op with pointCloudFromArray to draw point clouds with a xyz array.”

Just use pointCloudFromArray (https://cables.gl/op/Ops.Gl.Meshes.PointCloudFromArray) instead of MeshInstancer. That should solve the problem.
